Thin crust pizza was burnt black on the edges and slopped together. Kids lasagna was bad too. My son couldnt even chew the noodles they were so tough. It was $30 for the lasagna and med pizza too... Which is ok for a tourist town but it wasnt edible. So i reallly dont have anything good to say at all about this place...

Our waiter was very quiet, shy and not wanting to be there, also all the seats cracks where full of food.... YUCK. One last thing with the seats... They felt like rocks...(-1 star) We waited not very long, and the pizza came.. Its was alight, very little flavor, good portion but a HUGE price. (-1 star) Overall it was almost $60 for 3 SMALL pizza's. (-1 star) It was an average pizza place, that's the reason for 2 stars. If our waiter was a bit better it would get a 3.

We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and Alfredo. We also got a child's pizza. When ordering the waitress took our drink order and came back with a different drink than what I ordered, and never came back with the right drink, we ended up flagging another waiter down. After waiting 35 mins for our food to come out, the food was warm..not hot like it had just got finished, the food had no flavor whatsoever, we've had store bought sauce that tasted better than this. Its a pricey place as well, for 2 adults and a child it was almost $50. I don't recommend it at all. Very disappointed and unsatisfied. Left still hungry, didn't even wanna finish the food.

Had lunch here yesterday, and was fairly impressed. Some positives-they let you order off the kid's menu (no age restriction). The kid's portion was also a satisfactory smallish meal for an adult and a salad was included-a deal! I ordered the Italian meatball sandwich and split it with my husband. The meatballs were well seasoned with herbs, albeit a bit dry. The sauce and bread was good. Some negatives-the French fries were soggy (I didn't even finish them, a shocker for me) and there is a $3 shared plate charge. However, it was nice that they portioned the meal out onto 2 plates for us. One thing that did impress me was how clean the high chair was that they brought for my 7 month old. Overall, pretty average-to-good Italian food.

We arrived at Red River for the first time and decided on trying Capos. Needless to say, the best part of dinner was my beer and the side salad. I had Seafood Linguini and my wife had the Bona Magiata, we each chose the minestrone, and we shared an order of artichoke hearts. The only food that seemed prepared was the side salad. The rest didn't have any flavor, the hearts appeared to be from the freezer aisle, the minestrone tasted like it was fresh from the can, the sauces were bland, the eggplant was warm at best, and the seafood consisted of 3 small shrimp and a few pieces of imitation crab. The manager deducted one of our entrees, and the bill was still $45. Totally was not worth that, much less the $65 we would have paid had we not complained.

Best place to eat in Red River. Very clean with a good verity of things to order! Great location 1 minute from the main ski lift and minutes from the best hotels in town. Service here rocks also!

We made the mistake of having lunch at Capo's today. The food was mediocre and tasted like it was previously frozen then reheated. This was disappointing considering it was $60 for just my husband and I. What really sealed the deal to not return was when they said we were a table of 6 and automatically included the tip. There were 4 adults and 2 infants. It just seemed like a really sneaky way to add on extra money during their off-peak season.

Awesome ski town food....Lots of posters say its overpriced but everything is overpriced in a ski town..its just reality....ate there on a Saturday nite after Christmas...packed...kitchen was slammed..lots of 12 -15 top groups..but the wait (1hr) was worth it...all fresh ingredients on the large pizza...ordered a stella....nice beer/wine list...ate out while at RR four days and nites and never had a bill for two over $35...after the crowds lifted (7:30-8) the place to be

Their food is all mediocre. It isn't horrible. If you are after pizza then go for Anchovies Pizzeria - it is much, much better pizza. If you are after other Italian then it is pretty good, but nothing amazing.

We arrived just before the swarm of hungry tourists and our table of 16 was sat within 15 minutes. We were greeted quickly by our server and our drinks on the way. With 16 people sometimes ordering can be a bit challenging for us all. The menu had tons to choose from, we enjoyed chicken parmesan, lasagna, cannelloni, Italian meatballs, spaghetti and several pizzas (cheese, pepperoni & beef). We feasted and had a couple of slices left over for snack too! Yes the prices were a bit high, but well worth it for the food, service and ability to accommodate 16 without a reservation.

It's a bit more pricey than represented. Meals run $18, burger & sandwiches are $12. A featherduster would not be an unwelcome visitor. But the food was good. My daughter and I had the kid's meals (no age restrictions!!) which was plenty of food. I had the manicotti, which was tasty. My daughter claimed it "was the best pizza ever!" Hubby enjoyed his calzone. All in all, good Italian food. Considering there are such few options for dining RR, we will come again.

Order 2 pizzas for takeout. Service was fast and friendly. Pizzas were very good with a good ratio of sauce and toppings. Crust isn't too thin more like hand tossed. Will order from here again.

I eat here at least 4 to 5 times a year. Sometimes by myself sometimes with family. I always have house salad, green chile stew, and 1/2 order of rigatoni sausage. Family has other dishes from lasagna to pizza. None has ever complained about the taste or quality. Compared to a $5 hamburger the prices may be pricie, but seem to me to be in line with moderately priced restaurants in Texas.

We went here twice during our stay. If you can get coupons, do it. the place is pricey. The first time we went, the food was just ok. The veal was almost flavorless. The second time, we got take away and the pizza was amazing. Truly some of the best I have ever had. I had to fight my children for the last piece.

The food was delicious!!! I was with a friend who enjoys good Italian..the wine list was so-so but the I've seen in Red River. Waitstaff was attentive but not obtrusive. The prices were great for the portions & quality. Will definitely return!!

Pizza was excellent. Not very busy. Service was timely and servers were very friendly. They are open for lunch and then closed until 5pm, at least during the week we were there.

AVOID like the plague. The food is very expensive. Expect to pay roughly $16-18 for a pasta dish (out of season, early fall). Culinary wise - this food is a complete joke and an insult to Italians. There is nothing Italian about serving defrosted Sysco food and laughing at the 1000% markup. Pasta dishes literally taste like 79 cent welfare microwave dinners. You're better off eating the snow outside - even if it's yellow. I'd give this negative 5 stars if I could.

nice people, but not so nice pizza. bland, pasty cardboard crust, bland sauce, bland cheese. okay side salad and friendly service, though.

Food was bland like most say. Little if no spices on pasta dishes. Priced too high for what you get. Poor bar selection.

We've eaten at Capo's almost every time we come up to Red River. Our first experience wasn't that great. It was the night before the big bicycle race and they had all you can eat spaghetti. It was packed, service was slow, and the pasta was kind of bland. However, we gave it another chance, and on a regular night the food is great. The green chili cheese bread is oh so good, super cheesy and that nice roasted green chili taste to make it even better. Bona Mangiata (stuffed eggplant slices) is a good combo of meat, eggplant, cheese, and sauce. Think a hearty, hearty eggplant parmigiana. Spaghetti and meatballs is good too. For lunch, we had hamburgers and Italian sausage sandwiches with hand-cut french fries. The fries were so good, with a nice chewy skin on some. The sausage hoagie needed a little more sauce. The burgers were nice and thick, good bun, and nice fresh sandwich veggies. Staff are friendly and the owner always checks on you and says Hi. We'll be back for sure. Yum.

We were there during Spring break (week of 3/10) and despite the negative reviews on here decided to check it out. We had a good sized party (4 adults, 4 kids) and got seated within 15 minutes (not bad for how busy this town is). I am not sure if the other reviewers on here had something tricked up but we stuck to the basics...pizza and calzones. The food was very good and the service was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The salads that came with the meal were very good and much better than you get at other places. If you are there, give it a try!

TERRIBLE and ridiculously overpriced. For this quality of food everything should be $10 less than it is. I dont know how this place can stay in business. My spaghetti only came with a tiny bit of sauce and was so bland and dry. The fettucini had no flavor at all. Avoid this place at all costs.

Nice place just off the main strip. Everyone was very friendly & the pizza was good. My only quibble is the green chile wasn't quite right-like it was canned. Very minor quibble, though. Overall, it was a great experience.

Saturday dinner in Red River off-season is slim pickings. Our goal was Texas Reds, but it wasn't open. Capos was open so we tried it. After recovering from price sticker shot, we ordered. Usually my friend and I share an entree but Capos charges $2.50 so we just ordered dinner salads. Hubby had eggplant parmesan which he said was average. So, my recommendation is to try somewhere else. High prices, mediocre food.

The best Italian food!! My kids are picky and we got them to try 'new' things!! They loved it!! Clean and friendly place!

I stayed a week in Red River and I went to Capo's 4x. Yum! The salads are so good. The eggplant parmesan was great. Pizza's were really good. Portions are large so you can share. The house Merlot in the small carafe poors about 4 glasses so a real bargain at $9.50!

The only thing I have to say is OVERPRICED & DISGUSTING! Never ever eat here.

    (1)
  • Heather L.

Extremely expensive for pizza, so I would have expected better quality. The crust was flavorless (think a softer saltine cracker w/o salt) and the cheese was rubbery. The only reason I gave 2 stars rather than 1 is that the sauce tasted good. We got the pizza to go, so I can't comment on the atmosphere or service.

The food was delicious and well seasoned. We started with the fried artichoke hearts. My husband had the green chile stew, it had a bite but was good. We both got pasta with meatballs, the difference in size between a full and a half order is not much. I ordered a 1/2 order of rigatoni and got 2 meatballs, he ordered a full order of spaghetti and got 2 meatballs and a little bit more pasta. Our waiter, Tim, was really nice and offered excellent suggestions. Bonus... they have a great beer selection compared to some other restaurants in town.

  • Alison S.

The food here is homemade, and that is hard to find in Red River. The portions are large enough to share so that helps with the price. Remember, this is a small town so the prices for quality will be a little more. Service was friendly and fast. We had combo plate with Alfredo, lasagna, and manicotti. The pizza looked and smelled great. This is definitely a place to try when you are in town. Great selection of beer as well.
